First Presbyterian Church

As a church, our mission is to inspire, nurture, and express joyful relationships with God, with each other, and with our world.  We believe that with the help of the Holy Spirit we are led to fulfill that mission. God has given us, as brothers and sisters in Christ, a variety of spiritual gifts to use in various activities in our service to God.


WORSHIP

Worship services are held every Sunday morning beginning at  The service usually follows an outline of Praising God, Hearing God’s Word, Responding to the Word, and Departing to Serve God. 

Holy Communion is a part of worship on the first Sunday of each month. Special worship services include Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Easter Sunday, and Christmas Eve. 

MUSIC

Music is an important part of each worship service and the church uses its music program as a ministry to both congregation and community. The church is blessed with an adult chancel choir and bell choir. 


CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

God's Word is central to the mission of the church, and First Presbyterian supports several Bible education programs.                                       

Sunday School classes for children and adults begin at on Sunday mornings.  An evening Bible study is available on Thursday evenings.   The church hosts women’s study circles as well as Vacation Bible School. 

FELLOWSHIP

The church has an active Fellowship program designed to bring people together in loving friendship and caring support.  Church dinners are held monthly.  During the summer months,  “movie night” in the parlor offers fun and fellowship.  Special activities, such as a movie on the parking lot, are designed to extend fellowship to the community. 


OUTREACH AND MISSIONS

The church remains active in the local community and in the larger world community through the efforts of its Outreach committee and Board of Deacons.                                                                              

Locally, the church supports the area Crosslines Help Center and Mission.  In addition, for two weeks (during June) members run the lunch distribution routes of the community's Meals on Wheels. The church assists the needy in and around Neosho,  is active in community assistance drives, and is working to make a difference in the lives of individuals living in the church neighborhood and beyond. 

The church maintains a national and international presence through its work with the missions supported by the Presbyterian Church, USA.  Regionally, the church helps to support the Presbyterian Church Area Girl’s Shelter.  The church is also very active in supporting members and non-members in need through visitation and prayer.
